“In this context, protecting the purchasing power of pensions, ensuring universal access to healthcare and strengthening long-term care systems must remain top priorities for European institutions and national governments. Older people are not a burden but a fundamental resource for social cohesion, active citizenship and intergenerational solidarity. It is therefore essential to combat age discrimination and guarantee the full participation of older citizens in economic, social and democratic life. FERPA will continue to work within the European Trade Union Confederation to promote a more social Europe, based on rights, equality and dignity for all.”
